Most photographers yearn for thoughtful and constructive observations about their work, but find that friends and associates are reluctant to say much for fear of hurting their feelings, or are not able to articulate strengths and weaknesses.
If you are entering competitions, sometimes the judges offer little constructive advice.
Who is it for?
The sessions are intended for 8 novice through intermediate photographers. Prior participants are welcome.
North Bethesda Camera Club members and wait-listers have priority.
There are multiple 2.5-hour sessions; the number is decided as the group forms.
A maximum of 8 participants receive individual, in-depth critiques using the same criteria Roy has used as a photography judge, but the critiques go into much greater detail. Participants receive specific recommendations on how to strengthen the photos.
Nominally 5 photos are critiqued for each participant.
North Bethesda Camera Club members and wait list - $7/session; others - $20/session.
Registration is first-come-first-served, based on when a check or cash payment is received.
If you cancel less than 14 days before the Critique Group, you are still obligated to pay unless a replacement person can be found.
