Les Braves is a metal sculpture at Omaha Beach in Normandy. This beach is where so many had fought and died, and where the course of world history finally took a turn for the better.

Being alone on this beach early on an overcast morning, and seeing this expression of gratitude to the Allies, was a sublime moment.
