Utrecht is a gorgeous medieval town with buildings and canals dating back to the 1400s and earlier. Many buildings have been rebuilt, but few are newer than 1900; most are much older.

There appears to be an unspoken agreement amongst residential owners throughout the town. Practically every residence is adorned with a miniature garden in front. These are often unkempt and in disarray, but that is part of what I think of as the essence of Utrecht's street art.
